01. Introduction
Northern Ace Resort offers an interactive website built with static HTML, CSS and browser-side JavaScript. This Cookie Policy explains the technologies used to remember age verification and privacy choices, the types of optional categories offered in the interface, and the difference between local storage and cookies. It also identifies external resources that may be contacted while you browse. The current implementation is intentionally limited: it does not install analytics trackers, advertising pixels or an account system.
02. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small pieces of data that a website or service can ask a browser to store and return on later requests. They may help maintain a session, remember preferences, understand usage patterns or support personalised content. Some cookies are necessary for an online service to work; others may be optional and require a visitor’s consent under applicable rules. A cookie is different from a form submission, and a stored preference does not necessarily identify a particular person.
03. How Cookies Work
When a browser requests website content, servers may attach a Set-Cookie header to their responses. Browsers can then send the relevant cookies back under the conditions set by their attributes and the browser’s privacy controls. JavaScript can also set certain cookies, subject to security restrictions. Northern Ace’s provided scripts do not create any first-party HTTP cookies. Instead, they save limited choices in browser local storage. Third-party assets may have separate behaviour determined by their providers, particularly if a visitor chooses to open an interactive Google Map.
04. Essential Cookies
Essential technologies are those needed for fundamental functions such as remembering whether the visitor has confirmed the 19+ age notice and saving cookie-preference selections. On this website these functions use localStorage, not first-party HTTP cookies. The age value determines whether the casino-related site content can be shown. The preference object ensures that the cookie banner does not reappear every time a visitor opens another page. These settings may persist across visits on the same browser unless site data is cleared.
05. Functional Cookies
Functional technologies can support convenience features such as saved interface preferences or richer experiences. The Northern Ace consent manager includes a Functional Cookies category so visitors can express their preference. There is currently no separate functional tracking cookie or local data collection system attached to that switch. A resort city map is only loaded after the visitor actively clicks Load City Map; the map is an external Google service rather than a Northern Ace functional cookie.
06. Analytics Cookies
Analytics cookies may help site operators understand page traffic, navigation patterns or technical performance. Some analytics products use identifiers, while privacy-preserving alternatives may be configured with fewer data elements. The current Northern Ace code does not load Google Analytics, a tag manager, third-party session replay or another analytics library. The consent manager offers an Analytics Cookies switch, but selecting it only stores a preference; it does not begin monitoring the visitor.
07. Marketing Cookies
Marketing technologies may be used to measure advertising campaigns, personalise promotions or recognise visitors across different websites. Such systems can involve third-party scripts or identifiers, making transparency especially important. Northern Ace does not install marketing pixels, retargeting libraries or advertising cookies through its supplied JavaScript. A Marketing Cookies switch is present in the preference manager for visitor control, but it is not connected to an active marketing tool. No visitor should interpret selecting Accept All as permission for an unnamed future advertising service.
08. First-Party Cookies
First-party cookies are generally created in the context of the website domain a visitor is using. Their purpose might be essential navigation, a session identifier or a site preference. Northern Ace currently sets no first-party HTTP cookies through its own code. Its age and consent choices use localStorage with clearly named keys instead. Depending on the provider chosen for public hosting, network or security infrastructure may implement additional behaviour outside these static files.
09. Third-Party Cookies
Third-party cookies can be introduced by content supplied from a different domain, depending on a browser’s restrictions and the provider’s systems. The website references Google Fonts to display typography and offers a Google Maps frame on destination pages after explicit visitor action. These services can process technical requests and may use their own technologies according to their respective policies. The maps are not loaded automatically. Northern Ace does not control Google’s cookie implementation.
10. Local Storage
Local storage is a browser mechanism that allows a website to save values under its own origin without sending them automatically in every HTTP request. Northern Ace stores na_age_verified_v1, whose value indicates an adult or underage selection, and na_cookie_preferences_v1, a JSON object with category flags and the date the preference was last changed. These values are not contact messages, booking histories or customer profiles. They persist until removed or replaced according to browser behaviour.
11. Consent
On a first visit, the age-verification interface appears before the cookie banner. Once an eligible visitor confirms that they are 19 or older, the cookie banner appears if no choice has been saved. It offers Accept All, Reject Optional and Customise. All optional categories begin disabled. A selection is stored locally so it can be applied consistently across pages. The website currently lacks optional tracking code to activate, even when a visitor chooses acceptance.
12. Managing Preferences
Choose Customise in the banner to see separate toggles for Analytics, Functional and Marketing categories. Essential storage is always marked as required because it supports the age and consent interfaces. Save Preferences records the categories you selected. Reject Optional saves each optional category as false, while Accept All records them as true. To revisit these choices, open the Cookie Preferences link in the footer or the Manage Cookie Preferences control below.
13. Cookie Duration
The two current localStorage items have no automatic expiry timestamp enforced by the code. They normally remain available in the same browser until changed, manually cleared or removed by privacy tools or browser policies. The preference object contains an updatedAt value to indicate the date a visitor last saved it, but this timestamp is informational and is not an automatic deletion schedule. Third-party services may retain their own data for different periods under their published policies.
14. Browser Settings
Modern browsers provide controls for stored site data, cookies, tracking prevention and external-content permissions. The exact names and locations of these controls vary by browser and device. Visitors can usually inspect the privacy or site-settings area, locate the site origin and remove stored data. Private browsing may limit how long information persists, while extensions and enterprise policies can change cookie or storage behaviour. Browser settings may also prevent external font or map requests.
15. Disabling Cookies
Blocking cookies or local storage can affect interactive preference management. If localStorage is unavailable, the age and cookie interfaces may need a new selection on each visit or page load. The site’s form validation, internal navigation and most page text do not rely on persistent cookies. External maps may be unavailable when third-party requests are restricted, but visitors can still open a directions link according to their browser settings.
16. External Services and Fonts
The stylesheet requests Unbounded, Sora and IBM Plex Mono from Google Fonts. This helps maintain the site’s intended typographic character when internet access is available. The browser may connect to Google domains to request font files and stylesheets, which can disclose network information according to standard web operation. If external fonts are unavailable, the stylesheet uses local fallback fonts. Because this is an external request, the website operator should evaluate it under any applicable privacy and consent obligations.
17. Policy Updates
Cookie practices can change when new functionality is added, including booking widgets, live chats, embedded video, analytics, advertising or hosted forms. A meaningful change should lead to a fresh review of the website’s actual storage behaviour and the consent interface. The table on this page is intended to match the currently supplied files, not a hypothetical future configuration. Visitors should not be told that technology is active unless it has actually been installed.
18. Contact Information
Questions about local storage and the website’s consent controls may be directed to Northern Ace Resort at [email protected] or +1 (416) 555-0137. The central postal contact shown on the website is 180 University Avenue, Toronto, ON, Canada. Email links use your own email application; the on-page enquiry form is not a delivery service and does not transmit messages. For matters concerning Google Maps, Google Fonts or another external service, please review that provider’s own privacy documentation.
